I was born in a red brick house on the Howth Road, Dublin, lreland and taken home on the 29A bus to a grey brick house on an estate not too far away.
There wasn’t many trees left on the estate and all the rivers had been put in concrete pipes underground (this is called culverting). The only wildlife left were the people themselves.
Fortunately, St. Anne’s Park, the Hole-in-the-Wall beach, Howth Peninsula, a dilapidated stately home, an old horse racing track and a few remaining farm fields were all within walking distance (via railway lines) or a BMX ride.
After secondary (high) school, I left Dublin on the train from Heuston Station to attend Art College in Waterford City, Ireland. Upon graduating I worked as a graphic designer for a few years in Dublin and then absconded to Perth, Western Australia.
And that is where you will still find me, down in sleepy Dawesville nestled between the Indian Ocean and the Harvey Estuary.
I am currently working on the second book in the Jimmy Round Belly series and a smaller series of books for smaller people.
